A well know arts organisation with a strong brand had undertaken its own training needs analysis and gone out to tender. Following a thorough selection process I was selected, from a large pool of potential companies as the sole provider of their management development programme. My role was one of design and delivery. Evaluation was undertaken by their learning and development department. For me one of elements that ensured success was the establishment of a set of design principles.
This programme has now been running for 4 years and has evolved and developed each year as the Organisational Development strategy changed, through feedback from participants and from ongoing analysis of training needs from a variety of sources.
The original programme consisted of six workshops (5 x one day and 1 x two day) and covered:
I co-delivered the programme, which used a wide range of creative approaches, with one of their learning and development consultants. Interestingly the current format is a three day residential programme. Feedback has consistently been excellent and the evaluation has established that managers are managing differently and it is making a difference. There have been numerous examples of success stories.
The learning I have gained from this contract will prove invaluable when designing future events.
