About
Neil Johnstone
I have 14 years management experience (6 as a senior manager) covering a wide variety of disciplines and 15 years working in learning and development. I have worked in the private, public and not for profit sector and across a broad range of industry sectors. With this background I am able to relate to and understand the needs of organisations, the challenge of leadership and the realities of operational management. This enables me to draw on my own experience to design and deliver training that makes a difference by being relevant, practical, focused on changing attitudes/ behaviours and encouraging participants to do something differently.
Associates
Since founding Worth Training in 2003 I have worked in partnership with a number of training providers and trainers. I only recommend trainers and organisations that I can personally vouch for.
When needed I predominantly contract with associates who have previously worked for the Industrial Society. I worked for the Industrial Society between 1995 and 2000 as a consultant, team leader and course manager and know the trainers personally and that they have excellent credentials and met rigorous quality standards. The Industrial Society was, at the time, the ‘largest independent training organisation in the UK’ and offered open and tailored courses.
When designing learning interventions there is sometimes a moment of creativity when I recognise that the best solution is beyond my own expertise. Rather than dropping the creative idea or saying no I will happily source the relevant expertise (often technology) to ensure you get the best solution possible. Examples would include working in partnership with organisations that provide:
- Cook schools (great for team building, away days etc)
- Actors (for forum theatre and role play etc)
- A range of audience interactive technologies
- Surveys and 360 degree appraisals
- DVD production
- Graffiti walls
- Graphic recorders
In these situations my role becomes one of project manager/event co-ordinator (as well as a facilitator) taking the strain off you and your resources. This one stop shop approach may be just what you need.
Whatever your need I am sure I can help. For more information email
